The San Antonio Zoo is one of the finest outdoor learning environments in South Texas! A Zoo visit could be just what your class needs to spark interest in science and observational learning. From characteristics of species, to adaptations for survival, to the wonders of nature, the San Antonio Zoo is the perfect classroom to introduce or reinforce your TEKS curriculum!
The Zoo is a great classroom for all school ages and subjects! Bring students for a self-guided tour and enjoy docent presentations at various locations throughout the Zoo, Tuesday through Friday. Keeper Connection times are located on our map, and students will be able to watch the keepers train or feed the animals. For the most enjoyable trip, schedule visits Monday through Wednesday when the Zoo is less crowded.
