Old And New Medicine Work Together To Provide Amazing Animal Care

The practice of zoological veterinary medicine is one of flexibility, since patients can be as small as a frog that weighs only a few grams to an 8000 pound elephant! Veterinarians often use advanced diagnostics and cutting edge technology to treat these unique patients. They also use therapies that were introduced over 3000 years ago such as traditional Chinese veterinary medicine and acupuncture to treat patients with certain health conditions that do not respond to current western medications or treatments. The combination of old and new medicine is just one of the many ways YOUR San Antonio Zoo continues to provide amazing animal care to our vast collection.
