Congratulations Peter Alex Petroff III on your winning photo
of the West African Green Mamba. This mamba is highly venomous and typically found in the dense tropical rainforests of Western Africa. Though beautiful, a bite can be fatal to humans. You can (safely) get face-to-face with these gorgeous snakes inside the Reptile House at the Zoo! Don't forget to submit your favorite Zoo photo to ecastillo@sazoo.org for a chance to have your photo showcased! One entry per person, per month, please.

Stage three water restrictions and the Zoo

Yes, we’re looking a little dry and weathered these days, but it is for a very good reason! During water restrictions, the Zoo drains non- essential pools and limits water use throughout the Zoo. Any water use you see during your visit is essential to maintain the highest level of care for our animal collection.

Giraffe are coming back!

Want to name the Giraffe Exhibit for the Zoo's 100th Anniversary? For only $400,000, you can have your name on the giraffe exhibit and giraffe feeding station! It's the perfect way to make a contribution that will last a lifetime!
